SIMONA CIRIO, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I provide professional counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

My approach integrates different methods and schools of therapy to understand and work with how problems manifest in a specific context. Interventions range from coaching with stress management, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills to wider issues related to the exploration of one’s self-esteem, values, and sense of purpose. I believe that each person and family is unique and therefore I use a range of approaches to fit the world-view of my clients and build with them a non- judgmental, collaborative, and compassionate relationship.

Common problems I help with are the following:

  • Attachment/relationship issues
  • Couple intimacy and satisfaction
  • Parenting
  • Adult children- parents relationships
  • Family conflict
  • Individual development and family life cycle
  • Transitions
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • Loss and grief
  • Trauma

I have a special interest in how society and culture impact and influence our lives. I am passionate about my work with international and migrant individuals and with cross-national and multicultural couples and families.

I am a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)
