How many locations do you have?

My main office is in Evanston. I'm there MON, WED, TH 8 am-7 pm, FRI 8 am-5 pm, and SAT 9 am-1 pm.

I have an office downtow Chicago too. I'm there on TUE only 9 am-7 pm.

Where is your Evanston office located?

My Evanston office is at 1740 Ridge, Suite 200C, in Evanston just north of the intersection with Church St. (View Map)

Are parking and public transit options available nearby?

A free parking lot is located around the building. Both CTA and Metra are just 2 ½ blocks away (Davis stations).

CTA: Purple line. Davis Street station, 3 blocks East of the office. From the station, walk West on Church St. then turn right on Ridge Ave.

Metra:Union Pacific North line. Davis Street station is 2.5 blocks East of the office. From the station, walk West on Church St. then turn right on Ridge Ave.

Do you take insurance?

I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO only. I can bill other insurance plans directly as an out-of-network provider or supply you with a statement to submit to your insurance company. This means though that you'll have to pay me in at the time of service and you'll get a (usually partial) reimbursement from your insurance.

How long are sessions and how often are they scheduled?

Typically sessions are 45-60 minutes long. You can schedule your sessions to meet your needs and finances. Usually clients find that initially weekly appointments are useful until they see an improvement. How long you stay in therapy is your choice. We will work together to determine the best course of treatment for you.

How do I know if individual or couple therapy is best for me?

Sometimes people experience difficulties in their marriage or couple relationship but they don’t know whether to seek individual or joint counseling. During our first few sessions, we’ll assess together the modality most indicated in your case.

Is what I talk about with you confidential?

Yes—what you say in my office stays in my office, within the limits of the law. I abide by privacy regulations set forth by HIPAA and the ethics code of the AAMFT.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you need to miss or change an appointment, I require at least 24 hours of notice; otherwise, you will be charged the full fee for your appointment.

Will I be able to contact you outside office hours?

I do not have an on-call emergency answering service. On nights and weekends, you may leave me a voicemail or send an email, but I may not respond until my next opportunity during regular office hours. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 7 pm. Saturdays 9-12.

Can you do sessions with people who live outside of Illinois?

We may be able to do phone and Internet video-conferencing consultations depending on the area where you are located or use Skype.

Do you perform custody evaluations?

No, but I can provide referrals to qualified experts who perform that service.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, I am not a doctor or a psychiatrist. If we determine together that medications may be an option for you, I can provide referrals for qualified psychiatrists and help coordinate care with that provider.
